Greetings Plant Lovers, Mystical Creatures and Friends,

I hope your Summer is flowing smoothly. I have been in the midst of slow living, harvesting plants, food, and teaching about the Good Medicine Road.

LUNAR MUSING: Full MOON IN capricorn

Lunar Harvests…. spiky things, liver things, nurturing things.

Tending the wild apothecary, loving the soil. I spent the morning harvesting Nettle, Artichoke Leaf, Wild Lettuce, Red Clover, and Gallium.

I love wild crafting planting, there is so much abundance in the landscape if you tune your eyes to the medicines and the foods the earth so generously provides.

How much of your diet and medicine comes from the wild?

With soil being one of the more endangered life systems on planet earth with an estimated 60 years before the food system as we know it collapses, we have to learn now how to care for our soil, how to live by the seasons, how to not just be an extension of the landscape but an integral part of it. We cannot depend on monocrops to feed us or to provide our herbs, even organic agriculture is depleting the soil with tilling, and never ending fields of zero diversity. Oh and NEVER forget the human impact on cheap monocrops. Your food prices are what they are bc they depend on desperate people working your fields. The overall energetic is suffering.

Wild medicines and wild foods take us home to the land, they teach resilience and adaptability, while igniting the indigenous soul in each of us, so long ago uprooted from who we are.

What’s Happening at Home

We remember that our relationship with plants is ancient, and that humans are unique beings with the power to transform everything we touch. When we engage with plants intentionally—supporting the health of the soil and the soul, we begin to see that the boundary between species is thin, fluid, and necessary.

Over the last five days, we hosted a workshop at our home in Italy, Ca’Inti. We were a small group of four students from Thailand, Italy, The Netherlands, and Argentina, along with my dear sister-friend and co-facilitator from Israel. It was an incredibly sweet experience, with deep quality time and so much medicine-making! One of my favorite aspects of the course was the sheer abundance the land offered. We have many cultivated plants, an overflowing vegetable garden, a blossoming food forest, and ancient grains ready for harvest. Our medicine garden includes wormwood, sage, lavender, marjoram, thyme, and rosemary. We also wildcrafted helichrysum, yarrow, pine, walnut, red clover, turkey tail mushrooms, melissa, wild malva, plantain, and linden.

I don’t believe in exclusive, fancy experiences that feel disconnected from the realities many of us live. That’s why I love welcoming people to my home, to show what it means to be in relationship with land, plants, and people. Ca’Inti is a humble, beautiful space devoted to regenerative living. For the past four years, we’ve been tending this land through permaculture practices, working closely with the soil, water, and our community.

Elemental Herbalism teaches more than the foundations of herbal medicine. It invites us to energetically align with the rhythms of nature, and to build resilient, reciprocal relationships between humans, plants, and the planet. Working with the elements is a natural and intuitive way to learn plant energetics and explore how they correspond to Earth’s life systems. We also integrated AstroHerbalism into the curriculum, which illuminates the relationship of As Above, So Below, offering a more holistic perspective of our connection with the soil, waters, fire, air, and our eternal spirits.

Each class opened with prayer and intention. We dedicated our cups, herbs, and hearts to our teachers, to the Earth, to those in suffering, and to our families. Though Ca’Inti is rustic and still evolving, we felt deeply nourished by the pace of slow living, slow food, and the rhythms of the weather.

📸 Check out a few photos from the course.

I feel so grateful to have shared this teaching journey with a dear friend and former student, Shir Rilov. We met in 2018 in Guatemala, where I told her she needed to study with me—and she did! Later that year, she completed the 200-hour Permaculture for the Herbalist’s Path course, and went on to deepen her studies and clinical practice in Tel Aviv. She has blossomed into a powerful herbalist, medicine maker, and teacher. It brings me so much joy to witness my students in practice, walking the Good Medicine Road. As a teacher, there is no greater honor than seeing your students rise, embody their power, and walk their path with confidence.

Our facilitation flowed so naturally that we’ve decided to offer a longer immersion together in Crete, Greece in June 2026. This 125-hour immersion is called:

Sacred Pharmakon: Regenerative Earth Traditions

Teachings include:
• Anatomy and physiology
• Corresponding materia medica
• Herbal energetics and regenerative philosophy
• Herbal traditions of ancient lands
• Field trips to local herbalists and alchemists
• Plant walks with local herbalists
• Abundant hands-on medicine making
• The wild apothecary and plant spirit medicine
• Astro-herbalism
• Clinical herbalism practicals
• Community herbalism development
• And most importantly, how to practice ethically and effectively as a community and clinical herbalist

We’ll also be collaborating with local herbalists for plant identification and to honor the teachings and perspectives of those native to the land. We’re finalizing the details and will release full information by August 1.

Who wants to get witchy with us in Portugal?

Herbalists & Alchemists Portugal, October 3 - 12
For witches, alchemists, herbalists
and all those interested in the magic of herbalism.

In this immersion, we practice the Alchemical proverb:

As Above, So Below.
As Within, So Without.
As the Universe, so the Soul.

To come back to the knowledge rooted deep within that transcends culture, borders and religions that place us above all other creatures. We are in practice with the plants to be in service to all life, to learn skills and nurture relationships. Through magic and science, ritual and community, we work to mend the pains of the world. Learn from medicine people who have dedicated their lives to being bridges between humans and the green world, as they share their knowledge and experience.

This course takes a deeper dive into medicine making beyond tinctures and teas. Learning about flower infusions making Agua Florida, working with alchemical extracts known as spygerics, sitting with the fire, stones and sweat in the Temezcal and making plant pigments for illuminating your medicine journal.

Tarot Readings

I have space for readings these next weeks and months

Sharing the Tarot brings me so much joy, and I will toot my own horn and say I am really good at it! This is my magic and this is my craft.

I am grateful if you have made it this far. I am constantly thinking about the folks out there who this writing may touch. I feel you and I am open to you. It would be so great to hear from you. It isn’t my strongest quality in [fast] responses, but I read all your messages and they mean a lot to me. I would be particularly curious to hear if there are any themes you would like me to muse on.

As always, may the good green world hold you in her abundant arms, may she kiss you with gentle breezes and may her waters wash you clean and run clear.

blessed be

sarah marie
