Greetings Plant Lovers, Mystical Creatures and Friends,
I hope this message finds you in a reflective place. These last six weeks have been a major hermit time for me, attuning to a seasonal shift here in the tropics that is akin to the feeling of winter. The rains are here and I love being solo on my farm. I spend my days just doing me, talking sometimes to just myself, my plants and my animals. It is also a time of deep cleaning and preparing for the major shift in humiditiy as the rains are an intense daily occurance. I love cleaning actually, it brings me such a sense of peace and stability. Now is the time I go through all my cabinets and drawers. I seal up the herbs, make medicine, go through my cloths and chuck old condiments from my fridge. It is also a time where I do inner cleansing. Just like in temperate climates it is a good idea to cleanse the body, when the rains set in here, it is time when the waters get a bit murky and people can get parasites or bacterial infections. So in the spirit if that, I am really happy to share with you all an upcoming collaboration with Anima Mundi. We are organizing a 4- week community parasite cleanse, and it isn’t just for parasites, but really it is a digestive system reset, a tending to your inner garden. On Thursday, May 29 we will offer a free Parasites 101 Masterclass, hosted by Adriana Ayales, the founder of Anima Mundi. We will go through all things that can inhabit our gut, and also, we will share with you about the upcoming program starting on June 8.

Our approach blends this ancestral wisdom with modern clinical herbalism. Each herb in our Parasite Defense Kit is carefully chosen to support the body’s natural rhythms—clearing stagnation, nourishing digestion, and activating elimination pathways. Lunar Musing
This New Moon is influenced by the sign of Gemini, and in the Tarot, Lovers VI. Sometimes it can be confusing for an air sign to be corresponded to “love,” because is it really so airy? So flighty?
Yet, the Lovers is not about lovers, or the people we fall in love with romantically, that’s really the Two of Cups. The Lovers, with a capital L, is about how we relate to the Other. That other can be our divine, or it can be those we feel we share something deep with, beyond the bedroom. When we look at the sigil of Gemini, we see two parallel paths.
It’s an illusion to believe that we can become one with another. We can only deeply align, walking on the same path, toward the same goal. And know that even then, we may find times when one of us needs to take a rest, speed up, or detour. Those moments can be very painful, we can feel loss, betrayal, or even freedom.
I am definitely not a love or relationship coach, but I have lived in community for 15 years and married twice. So I will just share a bit about the wisdom I have absorbed from those experiences and what I am still learning.
In this musing, I explore the Lovers VI in Gemini as the path of alignment in our relations. Talking Abstract Global Community, Local Community and Long Distance Relationship.
In just a month I leave for Italy to celebrate the Summer Solstice with another installation of Origini Future, a small, rootsy festival grounded in our love of nature and music at our home Ca’Inti. The event features Indie Italian Folk music, reggae dub, blues, eclectic electronic and world music. We have numerous workshops on herbalism, mycology, sacred sexuality, healing arts, and a huge Healing Garden for receiving therapies and treatments. Its a two day family friendly event overlooking the amazing Apennine Mountains in Le Marche.
We will have a series of workshops, dinners and gatherings over the summer. So if you are in Italy, check us out! I would LOVE to see you over there.
For witches, alchemists, herbalists and all those interested in the magic of herbalism.
This course takes a deeper dive into medicine making beyond tinctures and teas. Learning about flower infusions making Agua Florida, working with alchemical extracts known as spygerics, sitting with the fire, stones and sweat in the Temezcal and making plant pigments for illuminating your medicine journal.
Foundational skills in herbalism and regenerative living that nurtures the green witch.
We will make medicine, ceramics and plant dyes in this six day visit to my home Ca’Inti in the Le Marche region of Italy. Where is Le Marche?? On the Adriatic Sea right in front of Croatia. Away from all the tourists, this is a truly authentic cultural experience you will not find in Tuscany nor Rome!
I have been harvesting and processing more bananas than I can eat! The food forest is so green! So I have been baking, dehydrating, freezing and making vinegar! Let an abundance of bananas be the worst of my problems!
I love baking actually and made some amazing banana chai spice cake. I work a lot with gluten free flours made from rice, yuca, and breadfruit. I love gluten don’t get me wrong, but I try to eat locally sourced ingredients as much as possible, and we just don’t grow wheat here, so I indulge more when in Italy.
And banana vinegar is one of the easiest things to make! Literally, peel ripe bananas, make sure there are no bugs and add them to a large jar. I have a three gallon (15L) jar I use and I add about 30 bananas to that. Then you just cover tightly with a cloth and let them do their thing over the next 4+ weeks! No water, no sugar added, they have everything you need right in them. And in comparison to the famous Apple Cider Vinegar? A richer flavor profile and just as loaded with minerals, pro and pre biotics. A perfect supplemental food to nourish the gut biome. Vinegars are especially important also for bone health, as they help our bodies assimilate the minerals in our greens more efficiently. So always add some oil and vinegar to your salads or cooked greens for the best nutritional benefits. Something so so simple can make a big impact on your vitality.
Tarot Readings
I love this shift into deeper 1:1 with people. Opening the channel to the perennial philosophy of the Tarot to help people in their times of confusion and crisis is something I never imagined would become a part of my regular practice. I always held it as a part of my personal spirituality. But when I really decided to study and learn the Tarot, I had to work with others. So I started reading for students in classes. I got hundreds of readings under my belt before I started being asked to do it as a therapeutic service. Now it seems to be the offering people are drawn to most, which is affirming that I am on the right path in the evolution of my healing work.
I am grateful if you have made it this far. I am constantly thinking about the folks out there who this writing may touch. I feel you and I am open to you. It would be so great to hear from you. It isn’t my strongest quality in [fast] responses, but I read all your messages and they mean a lot to me. I would be particularly curious to hear if there are any themes you would like me to muse on.
As always, may the good green world hold you in her abundant arms, may she kiss you with gentle breezes and may her waters wash you clean and run clear.
